Disaboom.com Online Disability Community

ORIGINAL--
Many thanks to Emily for commenting about Disaboom (www.disaboom.com) on my recent social networking post, which she describes as"an interactive community and online resource *specifically* for people with disabilities! It has articles, blogs, forums, videos, etc. Just another one that's worth checking out. Thanks!".

I agree! Here at DisabilityIntel, I have mentioned studies and other articles done by Disaboom (available in the archive), and can attest to the excellence of the website.

I was so impressed by this website that I just had to bookmark it on my computer. Disaboom.com offers a wealth of information from articles that offer the latest news and updates on disability issues, to health, fitness, and nutrition information. Also in the website is information on education such as online learning, study skills, and information on applying for scholarships! I would definitely recommend this website to my consumers.

This is a great website! There is lots of information available. This is a good reference website to give to someone who is dealing with a disability for the first time. There are also tips and stories that can be inspiring to others. I liked the article that gave eleven tips for a perfectly accessible road trip. I can imagine that road trips can be a concern when using a wheelchair. Hats off to Emily for recommending this website!

This website is very well informed. It has everything one is looking for. Especially, for people who have a disability or for the Para-professionals that we will become one day. I really liked this page. I am very glad there is a page like this.

Thanks so much for the link to disaboom.com! I just looked at it and it offers so much information about almost everything dealing with disabilities. I like the article section so that I'm able to read improvements or any kind of cases that are being recently improved. There is also a 'community' link on the top and that's my favorite because they are able to discuss and talk to other people about their disabilities or you can learn about others. There are also blog links and a discussion board. It's awesome and I saved it in my bookmarks because I'm going to need it! Thanks again!

It's wonderful to see the disability community embracing this chance to show others that they are just like you and me. What a wealth of knowledge that is given to those that are not only disabled, but to those who might be caring for a person with a disability or someone who knows of a person with a disability. It's great information and a wonderful resource for those who are interested in knowing about to treat, care for and live with a person who has a disability.
Let's congratulate the group of people who started it and to the many people who are adding to the plethora of knowledge.
See... that's the America I know and love.. a country that doesn't judge, but is there to help one another out.

Both sites are great. It is always good to see websites that deal about disabilities going up, and making a difference in the lives of many. Whether it be, informing PWD about issues that concerns them, or by advocating and education people without disabilities.
